Before buying airport transport in Bangkok, check whether your flight uses Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK). Build your route from that airport to the exact hotel entrance. A screenshot labelled only “Bangkok airport” is not enough to identify the correct train, pickup point or return journey.
Source review: 18 October 2026. General travel planning information; confirm current services, prices, baggage conditions and accessibility with the operator.
Start with the airport on your booking
Suvarnabhumi's Airport Rail Link station is on level B1 of the main terminal. Suvarnabhumi transport guide.
Don Mueang lists Red Line suburban rail, airport buses and road transport among its options. Its rail connection is not the Airport Rail Link at Suvarnabhumi. Don Mueang airport guide.
For each option, write the next city connection and the final walk. Do not compare a train's station-to-station time with a car's door-to-door estimate as if the two measurements were equivalent.
| Check | Why it changes your decision |
|---|---|
| BKK or DMK | Determines which airport facilities and services to search |
| Hotel entrance | A nearby station may still leave a substantial walk |
| Bags and mobility | Changes whether transfers and stairs are practical |
| Group size | Compare the total for everyone with a complete vehicle quote |
| Arrival time | The useful service must still connect to your destination |
| Return airport | May differ from the airport used on arrival |
The free inter-airport shuttle has a limited purpose
The BKK–DMK shuttle is for passengers connecting between flights and requires flight evidence plus passport or national ID. It is not a general sightseeing or hotel-transfer service. Official shuttle conditions.
If your itinerary changes airports, record both flight numbers, the actual airports and the next airline's check-in deadline. Ask the airlines about connection arrangements and baggage handling before booking a tight transfer. This guide does not establish that a particular connection is feasible or that a carrier will protect separate bookings.
Compare prices without inventing a “normal” fare
For rail or bus, check the selected route and the onward fare. For a taxi or booked vehicle, ask what the quoted or metered amount includes: airport fees, road charges, waiting and luggage can change the comparison.
Use the designated airport transport information or booking channel to confirm the pickup point and vehicle/service type. Save the hotel name and full address in Thai where available, plus its map entrance. The purpose is to make the destination unambiguous, not to endorse a particular seller.
Prepare a fallback for delays. A cheap first leg is not useful if it leaves you without an onward service. Keep enough battery to read your booking and address, with an offline copy available separately.
